Vehicle Description
1968 Cadillac Fleetwood Eldorado Early 1st Generation 'E1' Eldorado
with the 472 engine that generates 375 HP 525 ft. lbs of torque
with an 11-1 compression ratio and the THM-425 integrated front
wheel drive transmission. This beautifully styled vehicle was
produced in the 1968 Model Year and represents the 2nd year of the
4 year 'E1' Fleetwood Eldorado design with the Front Wheel Drive
configuration. The vehicle has a free & clear Titled and was
restored in the original GM Trim Tag Paint Code No.43 Baroque Gold
Metallic (22996) Color and has an authentic period correct Cadillac
Large Grain Black Vinyl Top (not the cheap tuxedo vinyl fake vinyl
top). This vehicle is an excellent example of the original Bill
Mitchel 'RAKISH' design as accentuated by the Extended 18ft 9 inch
length. The true 'E1' Fleetwood Eldorado enthusiast understands and
appreciates this Rakish Stylizing and clean unobstructed contoured
body. The 1968 Cadillac Fleetwood Eldorado is generally regarded as
the 'Best of the Best' model year among the 1st Generation 'E1'
Eldorados (1967-70). The Cadillac Eldorado enthusiast community
concurs that the '68' has it all from the standpoint of styling as
well as the highly regarded 472 engine which is the same casting
design and only slightly less powerful than the massive 8.2 liter
500ci 1970 engine. While the 1967 Cadillac Fleetwood Eldorado
represents the 1st year and will always have the status as the
'first year car' (similar to the 63 corvette), it is generally
agreed that the 68 is the preferred embodiment of the 'E1 Eldorado.
