The VW has a strong history and reputation of being one of the
longest running and highly produced vehicle for the world market.
It was started as the "people's car" and quickly became a standard
in most of European markets and eventually into the North American
market with a significant demand and popularity.
This stunning Zenith Blue coupe that was sold new out of Eugene
Oregon and has remained in the Northwest under the original owner
till 2000 and then remaining in the area till early 2019. The car
showcases itself very nicely with clean paint, well preserved
underside, fresh interior, and a very tidy engine bay that puts
together a overall very respectful and impressive bug. Vehicle was
routinely serviced and over the past 10+ years there is a strong
file of service receipts and some of the restoration work that
comes along with this car. Car was nicely cared for and is easy to
see once you start to examine this collector piece.
Recent service work as follows; updated fuel pump, new Vitour
Galaxy white wall tires, KYB shocks, valve adjustment, engine
tune-up, and oil and screen change. The car was has also received
in the past year; new carpet kit, all new reupholstered seats, new
headliner, new leather wrapped steering wheel, door panels, rubber
mats and new front and rear chrome bumpers. The car runs strong and
brakes in a straight line and hustles thru all 4 gears with ease.
The period correct radio turns on and will pick up an AM station
with some patience and all lights work along with blinkers. The
horn is operated by a button under the dash.
This is a spectacular car with lots of extras and it will not see
anything but an upside as the time goes on as these earlier Beetles
are climbing in values each day! Vehicle comes with a stack of
service receipts, 2 shop manuals, original owner's manual, 2 sets
