The third generation Thunderbird, now known as the “Bulletbird”, was designed to summon images of America’s determination to win the contest to be the first nation to conquer space. From the rocket-ship-like front profile to the after-burner-like taillights, the Thunderbird reflected America’s space fever like no other.
Recent upgrades feature NEW Holley carburetor; NEW rebuilt generator; new plugs; new brakes; new fuel line; new brake line and more. Replaced interior upholstery, carpeting and dash cover in 2018.
This 1961 Tbird still rides like a dream. Original paint still shines like new. The original 390 cu in, 4 bbl engine is still firing strong on all 8 cylinders. Passed compression and cylinder drawdown tests in 2018.
Body and chrome are solid. Original paint shows some dings and touch-up that has been applied over many years, but overall this is a great buy for a Thunderbird enthusiast.
