Located in Texas Shipping Available I've decided to offer my 100%
real 1970 AMC Rebel - The Machine - for sale... 1 of 600 known to
exist like this. This car has been in South Texas since being
purchased originally and I am the third owner. This is an older
restoration, completed in 2003 after I purchased it. The car has
won multiple awards and has been shown many times at the Houston
Autorama car show as well as many other car shows around the state.
Many of the AMC owner's from this area will easily recognize this
particular Machine and know how I meticulously cared for it. All
the attached pictures display its current condition and were taken
just before the ad was posted. The car has always been kept in an
air conditioned garage while I've owned it, and I've never once
even let it get rained on. The car runs and drives perfectly. There
are no issues. The 390ci V8 is the original engine and has been
rebuilt. It was bored 30 over and a better performing cam was
installed. Being that this Machine is real and original, it has the
rare factory X intake manifold. I did upgrade the factory ignition
to the Pertronix unit for added reliability and performance. It has
a T-10 4-speed with the Hurst shifter. The rear end is the
"Twin-Grip" differential with 3.91 gears. It has the ram air hood
scoop with hood tach. During the restoration process I made sure to
have a very high quality paint job performed on the car. As of now,
the paint is 16 years old and it still looks excellent. This is one
of the 600 Frost White Machines and came from the factory with this
patriotic Red, White and Blue stripe package. The stripe kit is the
3M version offered from the Canadian seller who owns the original
AMC pattern. I even had the under side of the car painted and fully
undercoated to protect it. The body is laser straight and shows
well. Interior wise it is in great condition as well. The seats had
to be recovered after I purchased it but they were done back to
factory original condition. The door panels and dash are the
original ones and still look great. It has the iconic buddy seat
between the front buckets with the fold down Red, White, and Blue
covering as original. Even the headliner is the original one, and
is still in great shape. It even has a set of original AMC
floormats. The underside of the car has been kept meticulously
clean as has the engine bay. There are no surprises lurking under
this car except how good it looks after all these years. It has
power front disc brakes with drums on the rear and it stops well.
