1958 Porsche T-2 356A Sunroof Coupe
VIN 103035 completed March 21, 1958
Matching numbers per Certificate of Authenticity. Special ordered
with a factory Super engine, US overrider bumpers, and sliding
Golde sunroof! It has been said that only 200 - 1600 Super Sunroof
Coupes were produced.
This 356 was found in San Diego over 30 years ago and a ground-up
restoration was done with meticulous attention to detail. The body
is incredibly straight with excellent panel fit and gaps. The
exterior color was changed from Silver Metallic to Ruby Red and a
full leather Champagne Beige interior was installed by Autos
International. Additional options include chrome rims, GT stone
guards, Nardi wood steering wheel, wind-up chock, Super hubcaps,
tool kit, jack, and owners manual.
After the restoration, the 356 was shown at Carmel-by-the-Sea
Concours on the Avenue in 2008 and won 2nd place in its division.
Since then it has been driven approximately 5,000 miles. it has
always been garage kept and been well maintained.
Excellent mechanical condition with a smooth-shifting manual
4-speed transmission, matching 1,582 cc OHV air-cooled horizontally
opposed four-cylinder engine with dual Zenith carburetors with 75
horsepower. Independent front suspension with laminated torsion
bars, parallel trailing arms, and tubular shock absorbers,
independent rear swing axles with torsion bars and tubular shock
absorbers, and four-wheel hydraulic drum brakes. Wheelbase: 82.7
in.
The 356A Sunroof Coupe has a special place in Porsche history as an
icon of minimalist automotive design.
