Vehicle Description
A technological tour-de-force, this 2017 Porsche 911 Carrera is an
incredible piece of hardware, and if there was ever a car that
could be considered a screaming bargain, this is it. Equipped with
a lengthy list of expensive Porsche options and only 16,679 miles
on the clock, this extraordinary, 1-owner performance car is an
absolute masterpiece of German engineering.
There aren't many better colors on a Porsche than silver (GT Silver
Metallic to be exact), which seems to emphasize the car's German
precision and icy cool effectiveness, as if going fast were no more
challenging than filling up with gas. Porsche's finish quality is
legendary and because of the low miles and careful ownership by the
sole owner, you'll be hard-pressed to find any signs of wear or
deterioration on this incredible Carrera. It's quite exceptional.
The 991 Porsche provided a much-needed facelift after the
much-maligned 997 from the previous generation, and because this is
a '17 model, it's actually a 991.2, featuring even more appearance
and performance goodies. The shape is restrained aggression at its
best, with a three-piece intake front bumper and a revised rear
fascia featuring vertical engine lid louvers and air outlets on
each side of the rear bumper. The 991.2 is actually a tiny bit
longer and wider than it's 991 predecessor too, but the more
significant change is that it sits almost a half inch lower to the
ground, resulting in an incredible profile to the car. But nothing
quite catches the attention of the crows like the Porsche crest on
the hood. That's what driving an icon gets you. Things like the
headlights, mirrors, and taillights are also virtually like new,
further examples that this 911 has led a very easy and pampered
life.
The black leather interior seamlessly blends performance and luxury
in a way that only Porsche seems to manage. If you wanted, you
could drive this car to work every day and never know that there's
370 horsepower on tap. The seats are unmarked, the carpets look
new, and it carries a newly designed three-spoke steering wheel
based on the 918 Spyder's, although that may be only something
Porschephiles will truly appreciate. This one also carries a
7-speed manual gearbox, the preferred choice for enthusiasts who
like to stir their own gears and hit 60MPH in a blistering 4.4
seconds, and the list of options is rather lengthy. First, there's
the new Porsche Communication Management System (navi +
entertainment) that is controlled on the 7-inch touchscreen, plus
all the usual stuff like dual automatic climate control, power
windows, locks, heated seats, and mirrors, a power sunroof, and
pretty much every other option under the sun. Black-faced gauges
are arrayed in traditional Porsche fashion, with the tachometer
front and center and you'll have to work hard not to be distracted
by the like-new condition of all the dials and controls. The
forward-mounted trunk is like new as well and offers reasonable
accommodations for your gear.
Under the hood, the 3.0 liter flat six engine was rated at 370
horsepower/331 pound-feet of torque in the base-model Carrera, and
much to the joy of Porsche fans all over the world, this boost of
power was because the 911.2 was the first ever Carrera to feature
twin-turbos, and it was subsequently the first base 911 to not
feature a naturally aspirated engine. Along with the addition of
those powerful twin snails, the 991.2 also employs rear-axle
steering and the technological marvel that is Porsche Active
Suspension Management, which combines outstanding handling and a
comfortable ride by using active dampers that both smooth out the
ride and tackle corners even harder. The 7-speed manual is a joy to
shift and actually offers a higher top speed than the PDK (183
MPH!), and you'll never get tired of the big six's tenor howl at
speed. Massive brakes have been a Porsche trademark for years and
are completely resistant to abuse and repeated high-speed stops and
come dressed with dark gray calipers and cross-drilled rotors.
Gorgeous 20-inch alloy wheels are a scary expensive upgrade and
carry staggered 245/30/20 front and 305/30/20 rear Pirelli P-Zero
performance radials that provide amazing grip.
Beautifully built, outrageously fast, and with a look that'll be
stylish forever, this well-maintained Carrera is more proof that
Porsches truly are special cars. Call today!
