The 1984 edition Hurst/Olds is the ninth, and final model, in a
series that started in 1968. Every Hurst/Olds edition has continued
the original theme of performance, styling and exclusivity that has
made these vehicles true collector models. The Cutlass based coupe
features a high-output 5.0-liter V8 engine which has been carefully
tuned to provide the optimum performance available in conjunction
with the vehicle's special transmission and axle ratio. The engine
features a low restriction exhaust system, improved camshaft timing
and valve train components, special calibration in carburetion and
ignition timing controlled by the GM computer control command
system. Topped with an aluminum intake manifold and chrome trimmed
dual inlet air cleaner assembly the 307 cubic-inch small block
provides 180 horsepower with 245 foot-pounds of torque and is mated
to the proven Hydra-Matic 4-Speed overdrive automatic transmission.
The exclusive and unique Hurst Lightning Rods automatic shifter
provides both automatic transmission ease and driver control of
upshifts and downshifts. The front suspension has unequal-length
control arms and coil springs while the rear suspension sports a
live 8.5 3.73 limited-slip axle with four trailing links and coil
springs as well. Stopping the coupe are a set of power front disc
brakes up front and drums on the rear. Special chrome and silver 15
superstock wheels are wrapped in NOS Goodyear Eagle GT steel belted
radial tires. On the interior are comfortable front bucket seats,
sport steering wheel as well as a long list of optional equipment
such as t-tops, air conditioning, power windows, power door locks,
cruise control, tilt steering and more. Very few of these muscle
cars were made, with just 3,500 units produced in 1984. This
hard-to-find, one-owner, Hurst/Olds is in spectacular original
condition and has only 7,479 miles on its odometer making it a very
collectible survivor Oldsmobile and is ready for show or go! Stock
