This 1968 Chevrolet Corvette was built into an L88-powered race car
in 1972 by Fred Kepler to compete in FIA, IMSA, and SCCA
competition. Co-driven by Bob Sharp and John Orr, this C3 was
campaigned for three seasons in the SCCA/Trans-Am, IMSA GTO, and
FIA until it was sold in 1974 to Tom Rynone, who continued to race
the car for a few years. It was purchased from Rynone in 2000 by
the seller, noted racer Tommy Thompson, who had it fully restored
to its Kepler-era livery. The 427ci L88 V8 is equipped with
aluminum cylinder heads and is backed by a 4-speed "Rock Crusher"
M-22 transmission. This Corvette is now offered on a bill of sale
