1948 Buick 5C - 6 Super Convertible meticulously restored. Six passenger Super Coupe. Straight 8, 248 cu. in. Three-on-the-tree synchromesh transmission. Rear axle ratio: 4.454-1, 110 HP. Hydro-electric power operated convertible top. Power side windows and front seat. Exterior color - Sequoia Cream. Interior color - Tan & Maroon. Seats are cloth with vinyl trim and vinyl seat-backs. Plate: Style No. 48-4567X. Trim No. 44. Paint 31. Body by Fisher. Original radio and clock not presently working. Matching bulb needed for above license plate. The owner completed the restoration over 20 years of careful work.
Buick started to lead the auto industry in convertible sales in 1947. The company sold close to 40,000 'ragtops' , about 23% of the market. Most of these were 'Supers'. How's this - the purchase price was just over $2,200 back then (we should have bought 10 of them!).
