For Sale: 2018 Dodge Challenger in Charlotte, North Carolina

Vehicle Description

Take a stroll through your local MoPar dealer and it becomes blatantly obvious that Fiat Chrysler Automobiles peddles many of the world's coolest performance offerings. For starters, there's a whole family of SRTs that includes the Dodge Charger, Dodge Challenger, Jeep Grand Cherokee and recently inducted Dodge Durango. If you want to get less traditional, there's Fiat's zippy 500 Abarth, Alfa Romeo's sinuous 4C or Maserati's classy GranTurismo. And that's not even counting the new Jeep Grand Cherokee Trackhawk or insane Challenger Demons. That's literally a couple of mouthfuls of serious enthusiast cars. But, as incredible as all that metal is, there's still one niche the company hasn't filled: a convertible muscle car. Combining 5.7 liters of rowdy Hemi power with a trick Drop Top Customs roof, this one-owner coupe is a unique performance icon. And if you enjoy putting the wind in your hair, it's a modern Detroit marvel that's just your style!

CLASSIC GOOD LOOKS

Beginning life at Chrysler's excellent Brampton manufacturing facility, this elegant Challenger has roamed less than 14,000 miles of smooth blacktop. Pull the car under the lights and you'll find immaculate Pitch Black Clear Coat that's been pampered and paraded its entire existence. Below that lust worthy canvas, original sheetmetal fits precisely, displaying excellent build quality. A close look down that slab-sided fuselage reveals not so much as a dent or ding anywhere: spotless aesthetics that are reinforced by a clean CarFax report. And it all adds up to one slick modern MoPar that's far nicer than any piecemeal third party build!

Trimmings kick off with a blacked out grille that hangs energetic "CHALLENGER R/T" badging between high intensity headlights, projector fog lamps and an aggressive chin spoiler. Behind that spoiler, a tall profile floats Pitch Black mirrors and a Satin Black fuel filler between authoritative "HEMI" emblems, Satin Black rockers and a tight electric top that was retrofitted by Drop Top Customs of High Springs, Florida. That top folds between a scooped hood, factory-tint glass and a sporty deck spoiler that's fitted with a requisite Center High Mount Stop Lamp. And beneath that spoiler, a glossy, "DODGE" branded valance hangs LED split taillights between polished exhaust and a subtle Drop Top Customs badge.

HEMI POWER

Of course, there's only one question that comes to mind with any Dodge muscle car - Does it have a Hemi? At the heart of this Challenger, a stout, 5.7 liter Hemi V8 utilizes 375 horsepower to transform what's essentially a comfortable touring coupe into a heavyweight stoplight slayer. While not as brutally moody as the 426 Elephant that immediately springs to mind, the Gen III is an award-winning motor that features a great mix of old school power and modern technology. Aesthetically, Chrysler's install is exceptionally clean, presenting well under a beefy Drop Top Customs shock tower brace. And, best of all, this is a Hemi that'll fire up in any weather, drive thousands of miles before anyone needs to turn its bolts, and probably lay waste to any old school muscle car that's brave enough to pick a fight.

DROP THE TOP AND HIT THE BACKROADS

Straight from Auburn Hills, Chrysler's LX platform was a solid foundation that could easily spawn multiple rear and all-wheel drive applications. And when this Challenger's engineering team bolted up a Mercedes S-Class front suspension, threw in a Mercedes E-Class rear suspension and re-christened it "LC", they created the perfect blend of American attitude and European road manners. The driver rows the raucous Hemi's power through a tough Tremec TR6060 6-speed. That transmission twists a fresh Sure Grip differential, which is equipped with big, 3.90 gears. Power-assisted steering ensures you'll want to do more than make traditional NASCAR lefts. Braking comes courtesy of power-assisted calipers that, with the help of standard anti-lock software, clamp a quartet of vented rotors. Spent gases exit through a throaty, true-dual exhaust system. And at the corners, Gloss Black blades spin 245/45ZR20 Goodyear Eagle F1s.

2-TONE COMFORT

Look inside this Dodge and you'll find a stylish, 2-tone cockpit that's equal part form and equal part function. At the center of the cabin, MoPar Katzkin seats feature full power adjustment for the car's driver. In front of those thrones, a driver-oriented dash seals highly detailed telemetry above pushbutton ignition and factory climate control. At the center of that dash, Uconnect infotainment mixes convenient Bluetooth connectivity with crisp Alpine audio. Below that system, a French stitched console centers an attractive shifter between "DODGE" branded floor mats and metal-trimmed foot pedals. And in front of the driver, a leather-wrapped steering wheel spins factory cruise control around a tilting and telescoping column.

Mixing a legendary V8 with world class speed and all-American swagger, this awesome Challenger is poised for miles of open-air fun! Looking to scar a few roads and turn a bunch of heads? It's time you become the proud owner of this Pitch Black MoPar!
