Vehicle Description
This 1931 is all red on the outside (even the undercarriage!), has
modern A/C comfort on the inside, a terrific suspension
w/four-wheel disc brakes, and a powerful crate V8 under the hood.
So if you're looking for a total quality build, read on...
Pre-war Chevys have a distinctive shape that goes well-beyond the
bow tie on the grille. And this one makes sure to highlight that
even if it's also clearly a hot street machine. So while the bold
red paint is borrowed from the Porsche palette, the modern
clearcoat shine highlights the distinctive creases of the nearly
90-year-old sheetmetal. This is a sleek machine with the front
bumper deleted, the door handles eliminated, and most of the trim
replaced with streamlined accessories - including the blue
pinstripe that wraps around the body. This gives the car a very
modern look, especially with those polished 15-inch wheels that are
barely contained within the swoopy fenders. Even with all these
upgrades, this Chevy still shows off its vintage side in details,
like the chrome bracer bar for the headlights and the windshield
overhang. The result is a very thoughtful looking build.
Inside is more attention to detail. The original seating has been
replaced with a more comfortable setup that includes individual
bucket seats up front. The gray cloth coordinates with the custom
door panels and carpet piping to deliver a very uniform look. This
has great features like power windows, cruise control, and an
AM/FM/cassette stereo w/equalizer mounted in the headliner. And
cold-blowing R134a air conditioning will surely keep everyone
happy. This is also a driver's machine with a Lecarra steering
wheel mounted on a tilt column, and the dash is full of VDO
gauges.
The engine bay is ready for primetime. The smooth red inner walls
funnel all your attention to the shining small block in the middle.
There was a ton invested on this award-worthy presentation, and in
fact, we dare you to find another component that can be polished.
More than just look outstanding, this is a true powerhouse. It's a
350 cubic-inch crate V8 that has an Edelbrock four-barrel
carburetor, aluminum intake, and shorty headers feeding the dual
exhaust. But don't just listen to the rumble; follow its path in
the undercarriage photos. There you'll see a clean color-matched
presentation that will have you bringing a mirror to car shows to
put under this one. And while you're down there, you'll also spot
great features like the A-arm front suspension w/adjustable
coilovers, rear traction bars, a TH350 three-speed automatic
transmission, and four-wheel disc brakes.
This is the impressive build that's easy to enjoy on the open road.
That makes it the perfect classic to show off everywhere. Call
