Vehicle Description
We love seeing cars from the 1930s get a new life as cool hot rods,
but most of the time they are a Ford or Chevy. That's what makes
this 1931 Studebaker Dictator so appealing. It fits in perfectly
with this crowd but still stays unique. Best of all, this
distinction comes with a fresh build that has all the best pieces,
like a powerful V8, quality suspension components, four-wheel disc
brakes, and even an A/C interior.
The full restoration was completed last year and only 600 miles
have been put on the car since. This level of freshness is why that
blue paint has a hypnotic glow. That's real nearly 90-year-old
steel you can't take your eyes off of. These Studebaker had extra
curves compared to the others, and you see it cleanly in places
like where the rear end is contoured even without fenders. A build
like this is all about taking the time to get the details right.
The unique Studebaker front end shines with distinction; the
suspension components are polished to draw attention to the
investment in performance; and those polished alloys have meaty
rear Mickey Thompson tires to signal where the power meets the
pavement.
Inside, the deep tan color and intricate stitching of the custom
interior give this a vintage atmosphere. Even the windshield still
tilts forward. But really this is quite a modern machine. The fresh
restoration means a fresh interior, and you feel it on the
capering, panels, and dual bucket seats w/armrests. And when was
the last time you found a 1930s car upgraded with power windows and
ice-cold air conditioning! This custom build is all about the
driver. That's why you have a polished tilt steering column, Lokar
shifter, and the dash is dominated by a machine-turned panel full
of Stewart Warner gauges.
A motor like this deserves to be on display for the world to see.
The 350 cubic-inch V8 has a ton of polished components, including
the valve covers, alternator, piping, compressor, and upgrade
pulleys. Plus, it inhales deeply with an Edelbrock four-barrel
carburetor and Edelbrock aluminum intake. And those headers feeding
directly into the side pipes mean this one exhales with a powerful
authority. More than just powerful, this is also a thoughtful build
with an aluminum radiator w/electric fan to help keep it all
running cool even if you're in traffic with the A/C pumping. The
TCI TH400 three-speed automatic transmission is stout enough to
handle the car's power and smooth enough for easy cruising. As you
look underneath, you'll spot a tidy presentation that's another
reminder of how fresh the build is. Plus, you'll also see great
components, like the TCI independent front suspension, four-link
rear, adjustable coilovers, and four-wheel disc brakes.
Complete with build receipts, this is a fresh build that runs
amazingly. So when something so distinctive is also so well done,
you know you want to get your hands on it right now. Call
