amount of chrome. Powering the bike is a 1131cc V-twin motor mated
to a manual transmission. This massive motor produced a whopping
115 horse power from the factory. Features of the V-Rod include a
Screaming Eagle exhaust, disc brakes and an upgraded front fairing.

The V-Rod was developed to compete against Japanese and American
muscle bikes. The "V-Rod" made use of the Revolution engine,
developed jointly with Porsche that, for the first time used
overhead cams and liquid cooling. Motorcycle Cruiser wrote "The
V-Rod was intended to bring in more than the usual suspects, and it
did. It became the company's best-selling bike in other countries.
