For Sale: 1969 Plymouth Road Runner in Niantic, Connecticut

Vehicle Description

1969 Plymouth road runner

This is a three owner, all numbers matching road runner.

The engine, transmission and stamped body panels match.

The car started life in CA and is thought to have started life as T5 Bronze Fire. It was purchased by a father/son team who planned to restore the car. Unfortunately, they ran into money issues and didn't complete the project. They did come close. They did most of the modifications and the change over to the red/black paint. They consigned the car to a dealer in GA in 2010. Soon thereafter, the current owner purchased the car and finished her off.

One might say it's a resto mod but it can easily be brought back to stock specifications.

He set the car up as he would have had it been 30+ years ago.

The 383 has Hooker headers, 3"dual exhaust w/H pipe, Edelbrock 4BBL carb and finned aluminum valve covers and air cleaner. It was reportedly rebuilt by the father/son. Unknown how many miles are on the engine or on the car since the father/son did their work. The odometer has 52K miles on it.

Other  "resto-mod" work done to the car includes: American Racing wheels in the old school magnesium look with BFG 275/60R15 "biggies" in back and Cooper 215/60R15 "littles" in front. Front and rear disc brake conversion. Frame connectors. MSD ignition. Electric fan and and Sun gauges.  These modifications simply make this car that much more fun to drive and can be switched back to stock should someone want to go that route.

The power from the 383 goes through a 727 3 speed Torqueflight automatic transmission and runs into the stock 8.75 rear end with the Sure Grip limited slip. It is unknown what the gearing is.

This car also has an open "air grabber" hood but does not include the air grabber air cleaner set up. It has the correct "beep-beep" horn but it has been painted black. Another option is the bucket seats and console, not often seen in road runners. This is a coupe and has the pop out rear windows.

This car is in beautiful condition, no rust, an under carriage so clean you can nearly eat off of it. There are a couple of small blemishes in the paint and the door handles and mirrors show some minor pitting. Those are the only "issues" to speak of.

Total turn key. This car can be cruised, shown or taken down the strip; any of those with ease.

Asking price on this beautiful Mopar is $62,000.

Any questions, to make an offer, for many more photos or schedule a time to see her in person, please don't hesitate to contact me.

Thank you for the interest.
