For Sale: 1972 Chevrolet Corvette in Mooresville, North Carolina

Vehicle Description

Are you in the market for a chrome bumper C3 corvette, but are having a tough time deciding between beautiful and gorgeous? Why not settle for both? Your search might be over with this elegantly restored War Bonnet Yellow 1972 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray. Restored to perfection with great attention to detail, this may just be the nicest chrome bumper C3 we've seen! She's a turn key cruiser without a single hiccup to be found.

The original 350 V8 bit the dust before the restoration began. The owner/builder took it as an opportunity to install a brand new 350 crate engine. This was not done in vain; the original engine block was cracked in three separate places. But don't make the assumption that this is some monster horsepower build. The idea behind the build was to take this car back to nearly factory stock, brand new condition. It feels like you are in a 1970s Chevrolet showroom any time you sit in it! That being said, a few small liberties were taking prior to engine installation: CC heads and a mild cam were added along with a Holley Street Avenger 4-bbl carb producing an estimate 350-375HP at the crank. Attached to the engine is the believed original, freshly (2018) rebuilt th400 3-speed automatic transmission. This Corvette is the perfect blend of factory correct and functional upgrades!

But it didn't stop in just the engine bay, glance at the underneath pictures and you'll find an underbody so clean you could eat off of it. The glorious small block engine note is provided courtesy of dual exhaust from Pypes. This Corvette rumbles, but has a nice tone and isn't droning or deafening at speed. Truly, this is a perfect cruising car! Pick any part, and it is just about guaranteed to be new. If it isn't new, it has been rebuilt. This car has been fully restored, top to bottom! It even has 4-wheel disc brakes.

The car was repainted in its original War Bonnet Yellow factory color recently at the time of restoration. This paint is so slick and clean on a straight body that it could've been painted yesterday! The War Bonnet Yellow is not a common color, and looks phenomenal on the body lines a Stingray has to offer. This is both a breathtaking and unique color that is sure to stand out in a crowd-even a crowd of Corvettes! Again, everything you see is either new or refinished.

Pop open the doors and you'll find an interior that sticks strictly to the original theme. On the floor you'll see new carpet as well as brand-new material on the seats and door panels. The overall fit and finish are great, and again every component you see is either new or refinished. This is a very high-caliber restoration, and boy does it show! While it may not be restored 100% factory correct, it has stuck very, very close to the original design and was built to make a knockout example of a chrome bumper C3.

If you are looking for a 100% original car that transports you back to the dealership went it arrived new... this isn't the car for you. However, if you are looking for a Vette that looks almost 100% factory correct, with a little more power and some very subtle performance upgrades, this may just be the car for you. Don't let her immaculate looks fool you; she was built to be driven! Don't miss out on your chance to own this collectible automobile!
