For Sale: 1976 Chevrolet Impala in Morgantown, Pennsylvania
The fifth-generation Chevrolet Impalas were full-sized automobiles
produced by Chevrolet for the 1971 through 1976 model years and was
one of GM's top-selling models throughout the 1970s. Models
included a sport coupe using a semi-fastback roofline shared with
other B-body GM cars, custom coupe with the formal roofline from
the Caprice, four-door sedan, four-door hardtop sport sedan, and a
convertible, - each of which rode on a new 121.5-inch wheelbase and
measured 217 inches overall.
For consignment, the last year for the Generation 5 Impala. In
4-door Sedan form, a mere 2 owners have had possession of this car
which consigner states is all original, and in excellent condition.
Also it has claimed to be in a 2009 Super Bowl commercial however
research was not able to put a confirmation finger on this, as to
exactly what role it had.
Exterior
Cream Beige (or shall we say Powder Yellow) paint in overall good
condition covers the straight steel panels of this car. Chrome is
all original and presents nicely under the glow of our studio
lights. 4 doors, 3 pillars, and plenty of hood and trunk, the
venerable Impala has turned into a family cruiser iteration.
Standard wheel covers adorn all 4 corners.
Interior
Buckskin vinyl benches make up the seating for 6, and show up in
good condition, with no tears and just a bit of age patina. A clean
GM styled dash fronts this area, and we can see power steering,
cruise control, and excellent heating. A converted to new system
AC, and radio are currently nonfunctioning. As for door panels they
are in original good condition, and you will still be cranking.
Headliner is tight and carpet below is good.
Drivetrain
A numbers matching 350ci V8 with a single 2-barrel carburetor
feeding it, puts power rearward to a 3-speed automatic
transmission. Engine bay is original and clean for its age.
Undercarriage
Plenty of surface rust has accumulated over time, however it is
purely surface and noninvasive. Frame appears sturdy, and Power
disc brakes are up front, and drums on the rear.
A fine used Chevrolet Impala large 4 door sedan for getting around
with the family. 91K+ original miles, always maintained, garage
kept, and original. This Impala has undergone a complete fluid
flush, as well as a carburetor rebuild.
