Vehicle Description
Today's SUVs with factory options and basic designs just not doing
it for you? Need a lot of space and even more attention? Or do you
just want it to look like the baddest hombre on four wheels is
barreling through your neighborhood? Whatever your reasons for
wanting it, this custom built 2004 Ford Excursion is just plain
awesome.
Yeah, this is one big, bad sucker. The Excursion was already an
imposing truck from the factory, but this one's been turned up to
11. You don't have to look close to see where the nearly $150,000
in build cost was spent, because it's pretty much trick everywhere
you look. It was stripped to bare metal in 2017, and during the
next 18 months it was redone in a combination of Tuxedo Black Gloss
up top, matte silver (with glass beads) below, and split-up by a
hand-painted Ferrari Red pinstripe. But the fun didn't stop there.
An aggressive high-flow hood was installed, the billet was powder
coated, black step-bars were added, and the rear was de-badged for
a smooth look. All the windows are tinted jet black, as are the
headlights and taillights, and LED fog lights help light up the
night skies. The paint application alone cost $21k and it looks
even better in person than it does in our pics, as the 10 coats of
clear coat can guarantee. The Ford's been lifted by way of a custom
suspension as well, and the way it sits on those oversized 20-inch
rims is truly one-of-a-kind. And you'd better believe people notice
this monster cruising through traffic and assume someone important
is on board.
This Excursion is as far from factory-simple as you're going to get
inside, with custom black leather on all three rows of seats in an
elegant pattern that's accented with red stitching. There was sound
deadening material installed everywhere inside, and everything
feels simple yet upscale, with plenty of room for up to 7 people.
Every effort was made to incorporate stock and light custom
features together, so the door panels, dash, switches,
custom-painted center console, and even the overhead A/C vents in
the custom made headliner are adapted nicely to fit this custom
Excursion. All the usual stuff is standard, including the powerful
A/C system, power windows, seats, mirrors, and locks, cruise
control, tilt wheel, and more. There's also a Sony head unit setup
in the center of the dash that sounds great in the well-insulated
cabin, especially when it pumps juice into the subwoofer out back.
It's also connected to the stock DVD player for connectivity with
your electronic device. And thanks to the long wheelbase, cargo
capacity is plentiful, so there's plenty of room out back for your
gear.
As impressive as the cosmetics of this truck are, the power train
is the real star, featuring a custom built, balanced, and
blue-printed 6.0 liter Powerstroke diesel by Asheville Engineering.
It's a new block (not remanufactured) that's fully built and spec'd
for a 1,000 rated horsepower, although this one has been detuned to
675 horsepower for more manageable everyday driving. It's fed
through a FASS fuel system, augmented with a Snow Performance
Methanol Injection system, the turbo is a gigantic Garret Powermax
Stage 5, and it's all cooled by a Mishimoto cooling system. Quite
frankly, the upgrades are far too long to list here, so be sure to
inquire with one of our staff members because the list of high-end,
performance upgrades and incredible ingenuity is a long and
expensive one. No expense spared. The motor is backed by a custom
built Stage 4 five-speed automatic transmission with a big trans
cooler that provides effortless and dependable cruising and spins a
limited slip rear diff with 3.55 street gears. The heavy-duty
suspension lifts the truck and features Bilstein shocks and coil
springs with air bags up front, and custom constructed leaf springs
out back. Massive 4-wheel disc brakes are very powerful and stop
this big rig with ease. Those aftermarket MKW black wheels give it
an aggressive look and carry 305/55/20 Falken radials to complete
the look.
If you look at Excursions, you'll see that they hold their value
better than almost any other modern truck you can own. This one
would be outrageously expensive to duplicate, but here it is, ready
to go, for a fraction of the build cost. And this one is about as
special as you'll ever see. Call today!
