For Sale: 1969 Plymouth Road Runner in Mundelein, Illinois

Vehicle Description

Body & Paint (Exterior): The Sunfire yellow code Y2 paint job all looks excellent in my opinion. No scratches/No dents. Restoration process was completed 10 years ago. All body panels look original to the car, The undercarriage is clean and restored the correct way with factory look overspray underneath. After walking the vehicle I see no scratches or dings anywhere on the Mopar. The weather stripping all around is also in good condition. The Stainless steel trim/emblems and front/rear/bumpers are in very good condition as well. Trunk is near perfect with spare tire and Jack.Engine & Transmission: This Roadrunner has a factory standard 383 cubic inch engine, 4 barrel carburator, also installed dual exhaust system. The engine bay is in very good condition and has been restored condition, The engine was removed from the chassis when restored and replaced back after rebuild professionally. The engine sounds great and is putting out 425 ft pd of torque at 3200 RPM, This engine 10.0:1 Compression ratio runs excellent on pump gas, also during the restoration the headers where added to give this beast some more breathing room and added power. The Torque flight 727 automatic transmission in which is a 3 speed with 1st gear being 2.45:1, 2nd gear 1.45:1 and 3rd gear 1.00:1 these are factory specs along with the reverse to be 2.20:1. was also rebuilt, and shifts like it should thru the gears. Backed up by a factpry 8 3/4 rear end. This RR has manual brakes and steering and was born that way. Odometer is showing 50,000+ miles, Rebuilt has less than 5k miles. We have no documentation to support this statement. This was the information that was told to us from previous owner. This car runs/drives and stops great. You will be impressedInterior: The Black interior appears has its original appearance, The black buckets seats in 1969 were an option, they are all very presentable along with the door panels/dash/cluster/headliner/ deck lid and carpet, Seat belts are in tact. This interior has been redone in my opinion in the last 5 years along with the body/paint. You will be impressed of the quality of interior.Wheels & Tires: The Roadrunner has Bf Goodrich Steel Belted Radial tires on Crager sport chrome wheels that are all clean and in great condition. Suspension/Brakes/Fuel System: The Roadrunner appears be an original looking suspension that has been redone. with multi leaf springs in the rear and AC Delco Gas shocks all the way around which makes the car ride very smooth. Also it appears it has original sway bars front and rear all bushings appear to be in good condition. Chassis: Since the Road Runner was based on the Belvedere platform, it shared its revamped 116-inch unit-body platform and front subframe. The lone exception to this was the K-frame; the 426 mandated a slightly altered design in comparison to the rest of the V-8 fleet. As for the suspension, regardless of which engine was under the hood, the heavy-duty suspension package was automatically installed on all Road Runners coming down the assembly line. Included as part of the package were heavier ball joints, torsion bars and tubular hydraulic shock absorbers, as well as a sizable anti-roll bar. Upgrades at the opposite end included another pair of heavy-duty shocks along with six-leaf semi-elliptic springs on the left and 5 on the right. Between model years, the only improvements to this suspension arrangement were larger torsion bars for 1969. Electrical:Electrical system appear to all be in working condition.Glass: The glass all the way around the vehicle in my opinion is in very good condition.History: We have acquired this car out of New York from a collector, The Roadrunner was named Motor Trend "Car of the Year" Located: This vehicle is inbound to our dealership, I will have more photos and a video.
