For Sale: 1974 Oldsmobile Toronado in Mooresville, North Carolina

Vehicle Description

When was the last time you saw a second generation Oldsmobile Toronado? All we can say is WOW! The second generation was introduced for the 1971 model year and ran until 1978. They resembled the Cadillac Eldorado more than ever, but still remained a distinctly different design for the buyer looking for something different. Besides, what Oldsmobile loyalist wouldn't want a personal luxury cruiser? This 1974 Toronado is an amazing, ONE OWNER example in turn-key condition.

You read correctly; this is a one owner vehicle purchased new right here in North Carolina in 1974 by the current owner who has it on consignment with us. The current title was issued in 1977 when he moved to a new address! A true "car guy" and Oldsmobile enthusiast, this Toronado has seen nothing but maintenance and care over the years including major maintenance when necessary to keep it up to snuff for shows. An Oldsmobile Club of America member, the owner has taken care of this car as a parent would of a child. This car took both First Place and Best of Class at the 2016 Olds Nationals in Kingsport, TN.

The exterior has received a high-quality repaint in the original color. Nothing other than OEM+ quality would be satisfactory for this vehicle! The body is as straight as can be, and all hard to find Toronado specific badging and parts are in place and in good condition. This car is a classic show stopper, and you're sure to turn heads anywhere you go! The maroon vinyl top is a wonderful contrast with the silver paint, and really serves to accent the classy and curvaceous lines of this vehicle. The underside is just as clean as the top, with a quality undercoating job and recent exhaust system. All of the front wheel drive components are in place and in excellent, serviceable condition.

The interior is all original and in amazing condition for this well-maintained car. All plastic, vinyl, and cloth is in fantastic condition showing extremely minimal wear, age, and sun damage. One look at the condition of the interior is proof of pride of ownership! The classic 1970s red interior is the ideal choice for this Toronado, an icon of the "Malaise" era. One interesting option (or perhaps the lack thereof) you may have noticed is crank windows. We've never seen another one without power windows! As if this one owner beauty wasn't unique enough, there's one more item to add to the list.

Under the hood is the original 455 cubic inch V8 engine. It has been rebuilt and repainted while in the care of the original owner to keep up the immaculate look of the vehicle, and it purrs like only an Oldsmobile could. All of the original engine bay stickers appear to be in place, as well as an original GM Frigidaire A/C compressor. This car drives phenomenally!
If you're looking for a well-maintained, one owner, show winning Toronado, it is unlikely you will find a better example on the market! This is a one-of-a-kind time capsule that has been painstakingly maintained and has the trophies to prove it. Don't let it get away!
