Vehicle Description
1959 Ford Fairlane 500 Galaxie sedan. 292 V8, 2-Speed Automatic.
Under 36k original miles. Car was sitting for about 25 years in a
garage. The Good:Rebuilt the carburetor and got it running and
driving summer of 2018. Car now starts, runs, idles, drives, stops.
Just had the brakes adjusted and passed New York State vehicle
inspection. Good glass, lenses, and trim. Fan works, wipers work,
lights work, power front bench seat works. Floors are solid, trunk
lid and pan are solid, rockers are fairly decent, frame has rust
scale but no rot or failures. Interior is complete and fully
functional. The things that need attention: There is evidence of
some very old body work done on the lower front fenders (see pics).
There are a few dent and dings from its 60 year life (front bumper
pic). The steering parts or box seem a bit loose and need some
attention, but drives down the road as is. Slight leak in the
windshield seal. This has caused the front carpet to start to
deteriorate. Front seat has tear at a seam. The clip that hold the
front windshield visors is broken. The passenger front door latch
is temperamental. The coolant line to the heater core is turned
off, not sure of heater status (fan motor does work). The
speedometer comes in and out while driving, but the odometer is
still fully functional. There are no aftermarket modifications or
alterations. This vehicle is in complete, original condition. Would
rate the car overall, interior and exterior, a 6.5 out of 10. It
just needs some love to make this Fairlane great again. Current
owner is third owner that bought it from the original family. Clean
paperwork and title. Please Note The Following **Vehicle Location
