Cincy Classic Cars is proud to offer this stunning 1972 Ford Ranchero GT which is in beautiful overall condition and comes with the matching numbers 351 Cobra Jet 351 engine and Factory original 4 Speed manual Transmission. Only 782 Ranchero's were built with this drive line from the factory. This Ranchero is a true 1 of 1 factory built GT as seen on the included deluxe Marti report, and only 50 Gold Ranchero's in total were built with the 351 Cobra Jet engine with 4 speed. This Ranchero is a one owner car and was bought new in California and remained there until 6/2019 when it came to Ohio. Being a California car this Ranchero is very rust free and shows no visible rust anywhere on the body and shows no bubbling or cracked paint. This Ranchero has been nicely maintained over the years and looks mostly stock in appearance and is ready for show or go. Maintenance has been up kept and many receipts and service records come with this truck. This Ranchero features a beautiful paint job in factory Gold, a very nice interior in Factory Ginger, the original factory 4 speed manual transmission, and the original 351 Cobra Jet engine. This Ranchero is finished in the beautiful and desirable color combinations of Gold exterior over Ginger interior. This is the factory color combination as verified on the included deluxe Marti report. The Marti report and included window sticker validate this Ranchero for being the legit rare GT that it is. The 59,535 miles are branded on the Ohio title pictured above as "Actual," although true mileage is unknown based on truck being 47 years old.
Exterior
The Gold exterior is in great overall condition. This Ranchero was treated to a professional paint job in factory gold in 2016 and shows well in Gold paint. The paint is in super nice condition and has a nice shine and gloss and is smooth to the touch. The decals were just installed and look great on the car and are factory correct. The body is very solid and the gaps and lines are terrific on this truck. There is no bubbling paint or cracked paint and no signs of corrosion or rust. The underside is very solid and honest and has not been spray bombed with cheap spray paint. Both bumpers are in excellent condition and the rear bumper was re-chromed recently. The tires are brand new and were installed on 6/24/2019 and are sized 225/70/14 and the wheels are original OEM wheels which are in terrific original condition. The bed of this Ranchero is very solid and rust free and the rear gate goes up and down as it should and features 4 tie downs. All weather stripping, window sweeps, and seals are in good condition.
Interior
The Ginger interior of this Ranchero is in excellent condition. The seat cover is in excellent condition and was recently replaced with NOS material sourced from SMS Auto Fabrics. The bench seat was recovered with a hand made cover made from NOS material and new seat foam. The seat cover is very soft and comfortable and shows no wear. The carpet is original and in good overall condition. The door panels are original as well and both are in good condition and both door pulls are solid and in tact. The dash surround is in great condition and looks very nice in the car with no cracks and no fading or warping. The stereo is original and looks great in the car and works. The gauges all work and appear to keep accurate readings. The horn, wipers, blower motor, and all lights work. This car has not been smoked in; there is no aroma what so ever, and amazingly the cigarette lighter still works.
Mechanical
This Ranchero is in superb mechanical condition and it runs and drives very well. Most importantly this Ranchero still retains its original 351 Cobra Jet engine and the factory original 4 speed manual transmission. Both the engine and transmission have been rebuilt and included receipts come with the car. During the engine rebuild a Cobra Jet intake manifold and carb. was sourced from a 1971 Torino GT and a 1971 Cobra Jet cam shaft was installed. This Ranchero has been very well maintained by its only owner since new and comes with a stack of receipts and service records. This Ranchero is a true pleasure to drive especially on a warm sunny day rowing through the gears. We have driven this Ranchero numerous times and it always performs well, does not run hot, rides tight, and is a true joy to drive. This Ranchero is an great driver that feels great on the road and at highway speeds. The brakes do not pull and stop as they should and were recently serviced and a new master cylinder was installed with new shoes and wheel cylinders. Several suspension parts were replaced in 2017 and make this GT with factory performance handling package ride extremely well. In 2017 the coolant system was completely gone through at a cost of $600 including new hoses, new thermostat, new coolant, and the radiator re cored. The stock style exhaust system sounds great at idle and cruising speeds. New battery cables were just added and a new starter was installed. Also, the engine is clean and nicely detailed as one can see from the photos.
