They only made 236 R/T convertibles total in 1970. That includes
all configurations of motors- trans etc. This is a seriously rare
investment grade muscle car. It is #s matching, factory red and
matches it's original fender tag.
EXTERIOR: I'll tell you what, this body is really straight on this
car and all the panels fit great. The doors, hood and trunk are
flush and square. The paint is polished out like a red mirror, you
can see the reflections in the car perfectly. It has a nice stance.
It's a tough looker with the Bumblebee stripe, side scoops with the
big R/T emblems and that massive hood scoop. The chrome and trim is
not new but it is bright and straight. The grills and tail panel is
real nice. The 15 inch Rally wheels and BFG tires look excellent.
Door jambs are painted real nice, bottom of doors are clean,
weather strips are soft. The black convertible top is very nice.
It's the correct Mopar grain material and has a glass rear
window.
INTERIOR: Inside the car is not abused, not brand new- it is very
good shape. The dash area is real clean, not cut up or broken. It
does have a factory tachometer and the original AM radio. It also
features bucket seats with the center console. Carpets are real
nice and it also has R/T embroidered floor mats.
ENGINE COMPARTMENT: The engine bay is actually really clean. All
the seams are real nice. I don't see any evidence of damage or rust
repair. The original fender tag is still attached. The #s match 440
hp Magnum motor has correct casting codes, dated properly, stamped
HP on top and the vin matches the car. Claimed to be recently
rebuilt. Has stock manifolds, valve covers and dual snorkel air
cleaner with 440 pie tin. New Edelbrock carb with electric choke.
Everything is very proper-the alternator looks new, has Mopar
hoses, clamps and radiator. It features power steering.
TRUNK COMPARTMENT: It's huge trunk compartment is actually very
solid. Looks like original trunk floor. It's all painted red, has a
plaid mat.
UNDERSIDE: It looks rock solid underneath here. The frame rails and
floors are clean. Even the inner lower quarters are clean, still
has drain plug. I really don't see any patches or weak areas. The
bottom of the motor is absolutely spotless, the freeze plugs are
still shiny. The trans looks clean too. Both appear to have been
out and gone through very recently. The starter, flywheel cover,
tailshaft seal and trans mount look new. The exhaust system is
stainless steel front to back. The shocks front and back have
recently been replaced. The front end components look like they've
been replaced not too long ago.
This is a legitimate, unabused muscle car. It appears to be very
honest and solid. You can drive and enjoy your investment!
I, Jay Grams, take pride in personally writing the descriptions for
virtually every car for about the last 30 years now. A significant
amount of effort goes into fact checking. What I am offering is my
professional impression of the vehicle.
Our salesmen are happy to assist with descriptions and making sure
your questions are answered. One great suggestion is letting us do
a walk around video that explains the car's condition in
detail.
