I purchased this car about 2-1/2 years ago from the original owner. I have admired this vehicle since it came out in the 1970's. When I purchased this long awaited gem, it was in fair condition and needed some TLC. I am now the second owner of this classic 1976 Mercedes Benz 450SL 2 door roadster, hard top convertible. Since purchasing we gave this beauty many new parts, so that it runs like a champ, including a new paint job- in the original silver color, battery, alternator, tires and wheels. It always turns heads when I drive it! It's hard not to notice this classic and stylish car. Also offers the rag-top (pics to come), a nice cover for it and a stand for the hard top.
Specs: Mercedes-Benz 450 SL (aut. 3) in 1976 the model with 2-door convertible body and V-8 4520 cc / 275.8 cui engine size, 134 kW / 182 PS / 180 hp (SAE net) of power, 298 Nm / 220 lb-ft of torque, 3-speed automatic powertrain.
I am selling this Roadster because I have decided to travel across the US in my new motor home, so since I won't be home to drive it, it is now available to purchase and is ready for someone else to enjoy it. Let me know if you have any questions.
Call me at 541-270-8339 for any questions.
The SL designation in the Mercedes-Benz SL cars, according to the automaker, is oddly variable, signifying in German either Sport Leicht or Super Leicht. Take your pick. Either term could have been applied accurately to the original lightweight 300SL that debuted in the 1950s, and in some ways for the W113 Pagoda-roof 230/250/280SL cars of […]

Of the first generation of exotic cars, the most reliable and most usable, and the one I had a poster of on my wall while in high school, was the Porsche 930 Turbo. It was the car I most wanted and was to me the ultimate. It was a model derived from Porsche’s racing cars […]

You read about the racing influence of James Dean on Lew Bracker. There was a second long tail to the James Dean legend. Many suggest the Porsche 550 Spyder he drove to his death was, in fact, cursed. After Dean’s death, much of the car was parted out. A racer who replaced parts on his […]
