Vehicle Description
1940 Ford 3-Window Pickup Truck
Why This Car Is Special
The 1940 Ford 3 window truck like we have here at Skyway Classics
is one of the most popular automobiles and trucks for hot rodding.
It is a great example of the factory style body and aftermarket
underpinnings that make this pickup truck such a great street
rod.
Mechanical Specs
Our 1940 Ford has a great body and sets of fenders along with a
complete 321 cubic inch small block Ford engine with a performance
Holley carb, aluminum intake, blue painted valve covers,
performance spark plug wires and distributor, upgraded radiator,
factory exhaust headers, and a polished aluminum air scoop style
air cleaner.
Power is sent thru a 4-speed transmission into the H.D. rear end.
The chassis is highly modified in the front with coil over shocks,
drop down A-arms and new steering assembly, and the rear with coil
over shocks, ladder bars, leaf spring rear suspension, dual
exhaust, and new gas tank, and rides on polished mag wheels and
performance black wall tires.
Interior
The interior is fully customized with plush black bench seat,
custom dash with aftermarket VDO gauges, chrome tilt steering
column and wood wheel, JVC AM/FM radio, grey padded side panels,
and air conditioning.
Exterior
A high flat-topped hood dominated the front look of the 1940 model,
as the grille spread out to reach the fenders. Our 1940 is painted
in satin black as well as the inside of the bed, with an absence of
chrome to give it that sinister Hot Rod look.
