My father bought this truck new in 1971 and put a camper top on it in the late 1970s. He died in 1993, and my mother gave it to my brother, who put it in his garage and never bothered to change the title. It sat in the garage for 26 years. When my brother died, I bought it from the estate and replaced the brakes components, the tires, and had extensive work done to the engine to make sure everything worked again. I have all the documentation of the work performed to get this truck operating again. When it was properly restored, I personally drove it 1,000 miles from Toledo to Dallas. The mileage is actual - 35,868. It has some rust because on the body - that's what happens to vehicles up North due to the brine salt they put on the roads. But the rust is insignificant. The key is that the engine runs great, the transmission is smooth, the brakes work, and it gets decent gas mileage. The radio does not work. It does not have air conditioning. Everything that was changed out was "restored to original" including the internal gas tank. It runs great. I think my dad would have preferred that it be used, rather than sit in a garage, so I am offering this low-mileage classic to someone who either likes to collect these things or can put it to good use.
