Vehicle Description
After having received a thorough restoration a while back, this
1977 Chevrolet C10 has come through the years in unusually clean
shape - the benefit of having served under an attentive long term
owner. During the course of its revitalization, a potent big block
engine also took its place beneath the hood, so in addition to its
sharp, understated factory looks, this pickup is wielding some
serious power.
From all indications, the work performed in elevating this classic
Chevy back to its former glory was done with plenty of care and
skilled workmanship. The burgundy paint it wears equips it with a
sort of "factory-plus" appearance, amping up the curb appeal the
truck had when it first debuted some 40 years ago while, along with
the cowl hood in front, injecting just a slight aftermarket
sensibility. It carries a strong shine in its present state and a
comprehensive detailing would really make the rich color pop. From
the front grille back to the diamond plate rear bumper, the chrome
this Chevy displays is in good condition, with no pitting to be
found anywhere. Fresh headlights are on board to light the path
ahead and the cabin is surrounded by clean glass, with a tinted
windshield up front and a functional, sliding panel at the back - a
sought-after feature in this pickup's heyday. Its sturdy foundation
has served it well - take a lap around and you'll see it's well
aligned, with tight, even gaps surrounding the doors and hood. The
ultra-clean custom wheels really finish off the profile nicely when
this '77 is viewed from the side.
During the course of its restoration, the burgundy interior was
thoroughly refurbished while retaining its factory specifications
and respectful use since has left it looking great throughout. The
cloth bench seat at its center is nicely padded and wears a
well-fitted cover as it sits over red carpet that's in
near-showroom condition. Chevy equipped its pickups with an array
of chrome accents across both their instrument and door panels
during this era and both are in top shape, with the former
encircling an assortment of clear functional gauges. The factory
air conditioning system is blowing cold and strong and is well up
to the challenge of keeping you and your passengers comfortable
during this warmer weather. A pair of seamlessly installed speakers
in the doors brings the audio from the AM/FM/Cassette stereo into
the cabin. In back, the Pendaliner drop in bedliner has performed
its duties well - there aren't any marked scuffs or other signs of
shifting cargo anywhere in sight.
The 454 cubic inch V8 under the hood represents the largest
powerplant offering available when this '77 debuted and this one is
a fine representative. Sitting at the center of a very clean and
well detailed compartment, it wears an upgraded intake manifold and
a 4-barrel carb underneath its Edelbrock air cleaner and is
surrounded by fresh looking hoses and properly routed wiring. The
big block fires up easily and pulls with plenty of vigor - pairing
with a 3-speed automatic TH400 transmission that's also in top form
- and it anchors a road ready drivetrain and sends a nice deep note
out of the pair of Flowmaster mufflers in back. Both the power
steering and power brakes - which feature discs up front - are in
good working order, so this vintage workhorse navigates and stops
promptly on its set of 15" custom steel wheels with Chevy-branded
centers that are wrapped with Futura GLS Super Sport tires.
