58 GMC NAPCO 4x4 long bed $7,000
4 speed, 4 wheel drive (Warren Hubs), PTO with winch
VERY RARE Fleet Option 100 Model, single headlight design in a 1958 body
Originally built for the US Forest Service in the high desert of Bishop California... lived ten years in the redwoods on the Northern California coast… then back to the Bishop area. Never driven on salted roads. The cab floor is not rusted out. Was mechanically refurbished, with a new 350 V8. Lost the rear crankshaft oil seal pulling a trailer up a grade... blue/gray exhaust. Needs a new engine, or a rebuild? It’s been sitting in my driveway for twelve years and I’m obviously not going to get around to it. So it’s for sale.
In 2005; most of truck rewired, new battery holder, new clutch, water pump, alternator, fuel pump, starter, exhaust manifolds, new mufflers and exhaust pipes, new brakes, hood hinges, turn signal switch, headlight switch, starter switch, custom built radiator. New fluids, seals and gaskets on transfer case, differentials, and axles. Gas tank cleaned of rust. Old windshield was removed, and surrounding body sandblasted and painted (including engine compartment), before installing new glass. Truck accepts a mount post on both left and right rear corners for a hydraulic boom.
Truck bed needs new wood. Mounting holes on two rims are worn-enlarged... truck comes with 4 replacement rims. Speedometer inoperable. Front winch hand lever frozen, but winch can be operated from inside the cab.
