Vehicle Description
First and foremost, the introduction to this description is
paramount; this is the most immaculate and "like-new" Corniche
convertible you will find anywhere. So spectacular in its exemplary
condition and presentation, you would be well and truly forgiven to
think you are looking at a 1 or 2 year old example. She is
stunning!! An incredibly fine example of a Corniche III convertible
finished in delectable (and rare) Tudor Red with handsome black
Connolly hide interior with all matching Wilton wool carpets and
as-new factory mouton overlays. The coach-lines are elegantly
contrasted in gold. This is a Canadian specification car and
although fully compliant to US standards as well, was one of a
several cars that "slipped by" the need to have an airbag fitted on
the driver side (and exempt from those rather bizarre auto
seatbelts that were mandated in lieu). So you have the very much
more elegant steering wheel as was seen in the home market and more
commonly referred to as "Euro spec". This car was imported by us in
2015. Mileage is an incredible 15,000 (24,000 kilometres) and,
needless to say, has a perfect AutoCheck report. The Corniche
design with its signature rear quarter "hip-line" is unquestionably
one of the most elegant of coach-work designs provided by
Rolls-Royce's coach-builder - Mulliner Park-Ward. It has tested the
time for elegance and style enduring no less than 30 years in
production (1966-1996). This being a 1991 model, it has most of the
engineering upgrades and product features introduced over the
maturity cycle of the model. Too many to list here but a few; alloy
wheels, upgraded dash with 4-bullseye AC outlets, full length
console, heated seats, much deeper and heavier tufted leather
seats, just to name a few. A not often identified upgrade was the
much larger rear 1/4 glass which was introduced to enable an
increase in roof height for rear seat passengers and providing for
a more elegant appearance to the car when the roof is up and better
outward view for rear passengers. This Corniche III has clearly had
a cosseted life. The paint is 100% original and nothing has been
repainted - not even any touch-up. The interior is like it was
never used; just look at the switch gear, knobs, buttons, gauges
etc. The car has complete lockable cocktail cabinets fitted in both
doors with all original and unused Tudor, Seymour shot glasses and
decanters. The only modification to this car is the Blaupunkt
stereo system which was fitted by us for the previous owner. The
system is much nicer than the original 2-part Alpine system factory
fitted. The Barcelona-230 Blaupunkt was specifically chosen for its
aesthetic elegance and suitability to the car whilst offering all
the convenience of CD, blue-tooth and USB inputs. Where one of the
2-part previous units was fitted, a hand-built wooden cubby was
installed to provide as a discrete and useful small storage unit
for your phone and other personal items. The large base-box in the
trunk was specifically installed in such a way that it can be
removed without any visual trace of its existence. Very important
to the purist who will most certainly want it removed (it can be
simply unplugged, picked up and removed from the boot). We also
have the original factory Alpine unit from the car but for its
unattractive and substandard performance, we would not recommend
its reinstallation. This Corniche III is a 2-owner car with the
second more recent owner having purchased from us 4 years ago. A
respected client of ours of several years, one might say; the
perfect caretaker of the marque, whereby he only travelled 500 klms
in the three years and yet, had the car maintained by a Rolls-Royce
expert each and every year. The car has already been inspected by
our workshop and needs nothing. Even the Avon tyres are like new.
The car drives incredibly nice. Many are not aware, the changes in
suspension design for the later Corniches resulted in a very smooth
car. Their ride is
