This GTO is exceptional. The engine rebuilt in 2004, and in 2014 the owner was not satisfied with the performance and had it redone by HCC Performance in Dallas, TX to the tune of $28,000. Everything has been upgraded by the current owner to make this car the best performing driver you could ask for.
We have 2 notebooks with the paperwork and receipts to show the over $100,000. that was invested in the car by the current owner.
When first purchased, the owner took the car to Sanderson Customs and Conversions to have any body or mechanical issues addressed.
The door panels are new.
The usual wood grain dash insert has been replaced with stainless for a whole new look.
The "his and hers" shifter works well.
Be sure to watch the video to see the power top in operation.
The engine compartment in the GTO is outstanding. This 400ci engine has been improved to look and perform to the max. When the owner purchased the car, he had Street Dreams send the car to Automotive Machine Shop (AMS) to have the engine rebuilt and upgraded.
Brakes were upgraded to a Baer System with 13" rotors in 2009 for better performance.
There are 2 binders are full of all of the history of the car from it's restoration just before the Barrett Jackson Auction in 2006, until 2014 when the owner completed all of the work he wanted to do to bring the car to the perfect driving car for him.
In 1967 there were 81,722 GTOs produced, of these only 9517 were convertibles. These cars are becoming more hard to find and are becoming even more collectible. Even though this car has had some changes, it still retains it's original look and still appraises for in $90,000. range.
