This 1960 Chevrolet Corvette was delivered new at Konner Chevrolet
in Caldwell, New Jersey in the fall of 1960. Optioned with the
heavy-duty brake and suspension package, the car was first raced by
Bob Wasserman in a four-hour endurance race at Vineland Speedway in
New Jersey, earning it third place. Soon after the podium finish,
the car was sold to the first owner, Steve Elfenbein, who
successfully campaigned it in the SCCA Northeast Division from 1961
through 1970, winning class championships in hillclimbs and road
racing. Power comes from a swapped 327ci V8 with dual four-barrel
carburetors paired with a Muncie four-speed manual transmission and
a 4.11:1 Positraction rear end. Following nearly two decades in
storage, the Corvette was recommissioned by Elfenbein in the late
1980s, color changed from blue to red, and driven on the street
until his passing in 2004. Jeff Reade of American Motoring Memories
in Culver City, California was commissioned to restore the car in
2013 in the spirit of its 1960s racing specification. This C1 is
now offered on behalf of the current owner by the selling dealer in
Oceanside, California with its window sticker, invoices, time
sheets, trophies, period photography, removed parts, Historic Motor
Sports Association logbook, and a clean Arizona title. This listing
