Vehicle Description
This Brilliant Black 1940 Ford Standard coupe underwent a full
restoration with period-correct parts provided by Bob Drake
Reproductions. The electrical systems have been converted to
12-volt from the original 6-volt for ease of maintenance. Coupled
to a 3-on-the-tree transmission, the 221ci flathead V8 engine
received special treatment in the form of Offenhauser aluminum
heads and intakes, with custom aluminum air cleaners. This new
setup should improve cooling over a stock flathead but does not
alter the classic look of the engine bay. A subtle water
temperature gauge has been added under the dashboard, but remains
the only modification made to the appearance of the tan leather
interior. From The Vault Portfolio. **VIN NOTICE: THIS VEHICLE
