I have $22K in her and am now giving her away for $12K, as my husband is super mad about her still being here, it doesn't matter how much fun I have driving it... I was asking what I had in her for service work and need to take a huge loss to keep the household happy.
This cherry beauty was given to me by my father as a present years ago to try to get me into the classic car collecting hobby. We only drove it occasionally to celebrate good weather and special occasions. Right now, I am the business owner of a 31 acre farm and naturally, all of my extra time and attention goes to my business. So, my beautiful Avallone has only seen daylight a few dozen times and I feel as if it would be rather unfair to keep it as just a garage ornament. This car is a very fun and cool ride on any given day and starts up every time. If it needed anything, it was given to it. This car is only one of a few ever made, but truly seems one of kind to its driver.
This is an amazing effort by Brazilian racing driver Antonio Carlos Avallone who created this Avallone as an MG TF replica with a Brazilian spec Chevrolet engine at the front and additional Chevrolet do Brazil mechanical running gear all around. The fiber glass panels are so string that Mr. Avallone used to offer rubber mallets to prospective buyers to try to damage the fantastic body panels. MG awarded Mr. Avallone with a personal letter of congratulation for his efforts and "Best Replica Award" in 1978 at the Geneva Motor Show.
We have removed the roof as it was not in good condition. The metal roof bracing is ok, but the fabric needs to be replaced, so parts are separate. Has lots of little superficial things that need to be touched up but the CAR RUNS FAST AND WELL!
