I am selling this 1955 Mercury Montclair two door coupe for my father-in-law who has been in the nursing home for the last two years. Everything described is true to my knowledge. The car has a 2 speed Merc-O-Matic Automatic transmission, with the shifter on the column. The engine easily starts, runs good, and the car drives. It does not have the original engine, it appears to be a 1970's ford engine. The odometer reading is at 39,025 miles. The sheet metal and frame are structurally solid. The paint is OK with a couple of scratches, looks good at 10 feet. It looks like a new gas tank and radiator. New custom carpet has been installed. I would onsider a trade for a Ford Mustang older than a 1972 or make an offer.
The things I know that needs fixing:
-Some pitting noted on chrome trim
-Exhaust tip on the driver side is rusted.
-The clock and radio doesn’t work and the antenna is broke off.
