For Sale: 1972 Buick Electra 225 in Old Bethpage, New York

Vehicle Description

1972 Buick Electra 225 Limited (2 Dr HT) in Showroom Condition & 47700 miles! A true documented SURVIVOR in MINT condition!

FMC is proud to offer one of the nicest big Buicks youll ever see. This stunning, all original car has a complete combination of everything you would want in a true classic cruiser.  In this case, an all original classic cruiser!  Big Buicks like this are impossible to find in this condition.  Body parts and trim are not readily available.  A restoration of a car like this would run in the tens of thousands so a restoration would not make sense.  Your best bet would be to find one complete and in excellent condition. Well... Here it is!  In next to new and in near perfect condition.

The Buick Electra 225 was Buicks top of the line full size luxury car since its debut in 1959 and remained #1 until it was discontinued in 1990. For years prior to 1959, the Super and the Roadmaster constituted the upper echelon of Buick's lineup. Both were renamed the Electra and the Electra 225 respectively until the Electra was discontinued. This made the Buick Electra 225 a premier luxury car for the next three decades.  The Electra 225 nameplate came about due to the cars overall length of over 225 inches (18' 8") earning it the street name, the "deuce and a quarter."

This 2 owner car was first purchased by Mr J. Dunigan of Lexington Kentucky in April of 1972 by Baker Williams Buick of Berea KY for a hefty $7814.60.  Mr Dunigan kept his car in flawless condition until it was sold to a client of FMC in 2013, 41 years later. The second owner kept it in his private collection in a climate controlled garage where it was driven less than 500 miles since then.

The body is near perfect.  Paint, chrome and trim are all original.  There are 1 or 2 microscopic marks on the car which are shown in the photos.  Other than that, the car is practically flawless. No dings, no dents and no rust ever.  All glass is original and like new.

The interior is absolutely a work of art and in flawless condition.  To add to that, every feature, option and gauge works perfectly. The option list is literally 3 pages long on the original dealer invoice starting with the expected; power steering, power disc brakes, power windows, power 6-way seats for both the driver & passenger, automatic Climate Control air conditioning, remote mirrors, tilt wheel.  From there, you can add the AM-FM 4 speaker stereo with 8-track player, trip counter, speed alert, heated glass rear defogger, power door locks, power trunk release, cruise control and cornering lights.  There are also two very special options that are unheard of on a car of this era and only offered by Buick. The first is fiber optic directional and indicator lights on the front fenders not only display as directionals, but do much more.  They show the driver whether the high beams are on or off, and the same for the parking lights and backup lights.  The second option is best described as the FIRST generation of Traction Control.  We have never seen this on any other classic.  Also included are self adjusting brakes, auto-leveling shocks and POSI rear.  Its no wonder this car was invoiced at over $7800.

The 455ci engine is all original including the original Rochester 4bbl carburetor as shown.  The engine is rated at 250hp which moves this beauty easily through traffic. Best of all, the mileage is documented at 47700 actual miles.  Turn the key and it starts instantly with barely a sound.  It idles perfectly and runs like a dream.  No hesitation, no noises, no leaks of any kind.  It drives straight as and arrow and the disc brakes stop as they are designed to.  Tires are better than 90% and the brakes  are new.  The factory Buick wheels are beautiful.  Its Pure Perfection in every way.

Documentation includes the warranty information, a 3-page detailed invoice, complete ownership history from day one, letters from Buick, the build sheet (condition is poor), owners manual, computerized data card and more.  There are also oil change receipts documenting dates and actual mileage at the time.

Obviously, we cant say enough about this incredible luxury car.  Come take a look and see why!
