"A hardcore 911 Turbo. Under fire for its overly civilized modern
fleet, Porsche produces a politically incorrect screamer that
requires the driver to drive it-all of it." "Less weight, more
power, improved aerodynamics, suspension, braking, handling... the
list goes on for this bare bones luxurious supercar that begs to be
driven." - Car and Driver The Gen II 996 GT2
The 2004-2005 996 GT2 often referred to as the "Gen II" featured a
the M96/70SL engine which increased horsepower from 462 to 483. A
21hp upgraded which launched the GT from 0-to-62 miles per hour in
just 4 seconds! Additonal upgrades included Ceramic Composite
Brakes, GT3 18" wheels, as well as upgraded chassis and suspension.
Few were produced making these one of the most collectible GT2
variants.
WP0AB29994S696069 was completed on January 16, 2004 in the
ultra-rare Guards Red (G1) over Black Leather (76) livery, with the
addition of Black Mats with Porsche Lettering, Stainless Steel
Exhaust Pipes and Michelin Tires, over the abundance of performance
and luxurious equipment the GT2's came standard with, and an
original MSRP of $194,645.
This impeccably presented original example of the famed 996 GT2
displays just 5,715 miles driven since new, in stock configuration,
draped in original factory applied paint (as confirmed by meter
readings), as well as original glass, trim, and equipment. The
cabin presents as original with delicately preserved surfaces and
working electronics. Its stunning cosmetic condition is supported
by all matching original books, cards and pamphlets in folio,
dealer books-brochures-and media information kit, Porsche
Certificate of Authenticity, along with clean Carfax and AutoCheck
reports. Emergency accessories located in the front luggage
compartment, such as the tools, unwrapped gloves, first aid kit,
tire sealant, wheel locks, and air compressor appear as new and
unused. Both indoor and outdoor fitted car covers accompany. A
protective clear bra has been fitted to the nose, complemented by
factory GT2 specific equipment, such as the 18" wheels, PCCB:
Porsche Ceramic Composite Brakes, and factory race bred
suspension.
As a testament to the GT2's condition and originality, the car was
awarded the winner of the Chicago Region 2014 Concours Championship
(considered the most challenging concours region in PCA to win), as
well as an impressive 299.4 points out of 300 at the 2015 Porsche
Parade (higher than any other vehicle of that Parade). The 911
remains in excellent condition, having been properly stored and
upkept, with limited road use. A bound dossier included with the
Porsche contains model and specific vehicle facts, records, DME
report, clean CarFax and AutoCheck reports.
As the GT2 project manager Hartmut Kristen once said, "It's for the
driver who wants to be able to take his car to its absolute limits
on his own." We highly recommend this 996 GT2 to the most
discerning Porsche purists, drivers and fans alike for immediate
collectability and driven enjoyment right out of the box - now
available for worldwide purchase and delivery from our Houston,
Texas showroom.
