This car is completely original. The body, paint and interior have not been restored. While not completely perfect, it is a very nice car that shows very well as a survivor.
We purchased it five years ago with 89,184 actual miles on the odometer. A local man purchased it as a light project to improve as he drove it and enjoyed it. I was pleased that he is meticulous and has great attention to detail. I was certain that he would improve the car and give it the love it deserved.
During his ownership, the odometer increased to 93,130. He put about 4000 miles on in the five years he owned the car. During that time, he made some wonderful improvements, yet kept it original.
He installed five new Cooper tires, had the original AM/FM Stereo radio rebuilt and repaired the clock. He dropped the fuel tank, cleaned it and restored it and had the sending unit rebuilt. The brakes were completely overhauled including a new master cylinder, calipers and pads. He serviced the transmission, changed the rear end gear oil and kept the fluids fresh and full.
One winter, he pulled the engine. He installed all new gaskets, then repainted it and attached the correct decals. All hoses, belts and wires were replaced. He performed a complete tune-up with all new components. The battery and alternator are like new. The engine bay looks spectacular.
At this time, every feature works properly. The cars starts, runs and drives perfectly. It is reliable and safe. No repairs are required. The doors lock with the key and there is a jack and wrench along with the spare.
The Lime Green Poly paint still looks great. It is the original finish as applied at the factory in Flint, MI 50 years ago! There are some chips and scratches that have been carefully tended to. The Green vinyl top is original and nice. All the chrome and stainless shines nicely. The Soft-Ray glass is great. The Buick Road wheels are in great shape and really set the car off.
The Buckskin vinyl upholstery is in great condition. The headliner, door panels and dash are all in excellent condition considering they are original and 50 years old.
This car is well equipped with Power steering and brakes, power seat, power antenna, power windows and tilt column. It has the available AM/FM Stereo, clock, front disc brakes and power trunk release.
This is a great example of a well-cared for car. It has been driven sparingly over its life. We were very fortunate to have the opportunity to buy it back from our customer that provided it with such wonderful care. During his tenure, this great car became even better.
While this is a wonderful car to drive, it is also a car that will gather many compliments. It is ready for any show and will compete very well in a survivor class. Our customer reports being hailed many times to accept compliments and to explain the wonderful quality of this 50 year old Buick.
There is no doubt that you will be proud to own this car. It made me proud to drive it to storage with the Stereo playing and noticing that the clock was keeping accurate time. It is not new, but it sure is in great condition. If you love the looks and enjoy a comfortable ride, this is a great car for you
