Vehicle Description
A great, and time tested way to go drag racing is to start with a
complete car. The shopping for parts, waiting for shipping, and
trying dozens of combinations that don't work can take lots of time
away from actually racing the car. And building a car from scratch
-- or worse yet -- the "project car" can be expensive. This Monza
was originally built to Pro Stock specs, so it's more than up to
the task for brackets, Super Gas and Super Comp, or class racing.
Everything's here: engine, tranny, all electronics, and all
accessories right down to the parachute. Check the highlights to
see names like Jesel, Comp Cams, Brodix, Strange, and be assured
the car was built using only the best components. The frame is all
TIG welded Chrome Moly and is "over built" for most classes. A
bulletproof Dana rear will take whatever you can dish out. A four
link will get you hooked up. There are many ways to build a race
car, but two important pieces of data are the dyno sheet, and of
course, a time slip. A complete dyno sheet shows that the 331 is
ready, willing, and able. It sounds fantastic! Bottom line: 650
horsepower at 8500 rpm. The car has run in the 8s. It should pull
easy 9.60s as it is, and with a little fine tuning, even lower ETs
are attainable. It's a 331 small block with Brodix Pontiac heads.
It has dual Holleys on a modified Holley tunnel ram. Inside is a
complete roller valve train and Jesel belt drive. The trans is a
TCI Powerglide with transbrake. The car certainly has the right
drivetrain to get the job done. The interior is also nicely done in
rolled aluminum and coated with durable gray paint. The body
features a drooped Hairy Glass front clip, Hairy Glass doors, and
Viper Red paint. Extras include a big AutoMeter tach with shift
light. Other goodies on board are a Moroso Ultimate 2 Oil Pan,
Tilton Super Starter (very important!), wheelie bars, a complete
MSD ignition system, and a Simpson chute with a very nice lever and
cable set up. The graphics are easily removable to make way for
your own personalized look. This one's ready for you to take on a
nice Sunday drive.
