In 1982, Buick introduced the Grand National to celebrate their wins of the Winston Manufacturers Cup and what began as a limited run of 100 cars to celebrate their victories became a mainstay of the Buick brand through the 1980s. Something about the Grand National captured the essence of American automotive culture throughout the 1980s.
In 1987 when this Grand National was produced, Buick had created a swan song for the Buick Muscle Car, a working mans supercar, with huge amounts of usable torque and a 14 second quarter mile time right off the dealership lot. Driving this car is a nostalgic experience and it brings the driver back to a simpler time of cars, when passion and competition lead automotive design not safety features and fuel economy.
This particular 1987 Buick Grand National has been well maintained and cared for by a committed owner. It has been tastefully upgraded , which includes a fiberglass hood, the original also comes with the car, and a new ECU chip. This car came equipped with the “G80” option for a limited slip differential.
All mechanicals have been gone through by Black Horse Garage. The car has a recent engine rebuild including a new piston rings, new camshaft bearings, new valve seals, all new engine gaskets, water pump, rear main seal, The crankshaft was also sent out to be redone. All of the wiring has been gone though to make sure everything's in working order.
The brakes were completely redone and shocks installed along with all new BF Goodrich comp T/A tires. The car also has a new serpentine belt and ignition coil pack. This car is ready to add to your collection and enjoy today!
The Turbo 3.8L V6 pulls hard and this car is fantastically fun to drive. The all black appearance of this Grand National gives it an aggressive look that is sure to turn heads anywhere you bring this car. Values of these Grand Nationals have been increasingly steadily in the past several years.
This is your opportunity to own a very nice Grand National with documented professional restoration work as well as a copy of the original build sheet!

Many great automotive names have ties to agriculture. Lamborghini made tractors before it made supercars, and Porsche and Ford have produced farm equipment over the years. That’s also the case with the Unimog. The versatile work vehicle sold by Mercedes-Benz was originally supposed to be a tractor. The Unimog was born in 1945 amid the […]

Take, for example, Volvo’s recent statement that all of its vehicles will be limited to a top speed of 112 mph in an effort to […]

Sometimes collector cars are bought simply because of their rarity and value. But sometimes they are bought because of their story. For example, Jay Leno says he doesn’t buy cars, he buys stories. The Pick of the Day is a car with a story. The car is a 1978 Ford Mustang II, certainly not widely […]
Michael Santoro’s eyes twitched, then dropped, as he almost fell asleep at the wheel. He had been up nearly 36 hours straight, and had pulled long hours ever since he took over as designer for the reborn supercar that would carry the star-crossed Vector name. “It was insanity,” he recalled. “I almost crashed.” He still […]
