Vehicle Description

1957 Chevrolet Restoration

Virtually every part on the car was restored with the exception of the rear differential.

Restored Items:

  • Brake cylinders, drums, linings cables, hoses
  • Front and rear springs, suspension components, steering components restored/replaced
  • Frame professionally straightened to ensure as new alignment
  • Power steering pump and cylinder professionally rebuilt 
  • Engine completely rebuilt
  • New gas tank, front to rear lines and sending unit
  • Transmission rebuilt
  • Drive shaft rebuilt
  • Compete new exhaust system
  • All chrome parts re-chromed or replaced
  • All stainless straightened, buffed or replaced
  • All new engine compartment and rear lighting wiring installed 
  • Distributor, generator, starter restored
  • All interior dash components replaced or restored
  • All new horn ring cover and steering components. Steering wheel cracks all repaired
  • All light lenses replaced
  • Headlights all original, working T3 lights
  • All new grille and turn signal bar
  • Virtually all new molding/trim retainers, clips, etc. replaced
  • All new upholstery, headliner, carpet, kick panels, windlace professionally installed 
  • All new weatherstrip
  • All glass replaced with correct coded E-Z glass (coding from original glass used)
  • Door hinges were removed, bead blasted and re-bushed
  • Virtually all new emblems
  • Correct BF Goodrich Silvertown 7.50xx14 tires
  • Correct spinner hubcaps
  • Correct new trunk mat
  • All floor rust in passenger compartment and trunk repaired and or new panels installed 
  • Every  bolt/screw was bead blasted and cad plated to original appearances as shown in the "How to Restore Your 57 Chevy" book
  • All removable body panels were removed, cleaned, painted and reinstalled
  • Paint is Lacquer (approximately 18 coats) in the original Matador Red/India Ivory to the best of my knowledge the car has been restored like original condition and virtually all components are matched date wise to the January production date

Known Defect:

Clock disconnected

Gas gauge unreliable 

After sitting for long periods of time if it doesn't start sometimes needs a jump start
