1935 DeSoto Airflow
Until this time, most cars resembled boxes on weels with separate headlights attached to a vertical radiator grille and spare tires carried in fender wells or strapped onto the body above the rear bumper. Mr. Breer and his engineers discovered that a conventional car running backward encountered less air resistance than it did running forward. The radical Airflows were well engineered and technically way ahead of their time.
Special features include dual cowl fresh air intakes, exterior metal sun visor, "suicide" design rear doors, dual individually opening windshields, fog lamps, rear mounted spare tire with locking metal cover, full rear wheel opening, fender skirts and much more.
