Vehicle Description
1938 Ford Deluxe Sedan
You may not realize it but you just stumbled across one of the
nicest 38 Fords on the road. We list a lot of different types of
vehicles and there is just something special about this one. It is
one of those where even classic car novices can look at it and
realize someone invested some serious time and money building the
car. If you were to try and replicate it you would invest a
significant amount over and above our asking price. So avoid the
waste of money and hassle because this one is ready for a new home!
It has undergone a complete frame off restoration and prior to the
build the car was a 100% rust free driver car with only 35,000
original miles. Starting with a solid base goes a long way and the
result is an all steel body that is incredibly straight and paint
which is some of the slickest out there. It was clear that the
painter knew what they were doing because the Sikkens Brilliant Red
paint on the car is incredibly clean. It isn't just on the body
too! A majority of the undercarriage was painted to match the top.
The car was built to be driven and enjoyed so you can expect some
rock chips on the undercarriage but with a little detailing you
could easily throw some mirrors under this car and show it off. One
of the most eye catching features on this style of car is all of
the stainless work which shines just as beautiful as the paint on
this 38. Same goes for all the chrome, emblems, and hood ornament.
All of the tinted glass is in good condition and it also has
received a more modern windshield which eliminates the center
chrome piece from the 2 piece style glass they originally had. This
car really applies the combination of originality with modern
upgrades well. Things like the flush mounted gas cap are very
subtle modifications but all of those add up to make the car really
something special. The chrome wheels suit the car perfectly and
combined with whitewall tires adds the perfect old school touch to
the exterior.
The drive train on the car is basically all new and under the hood
sits a GM 350 crate motor with 4 bolt main. It has been topped with
a Edelbrock 350 cfm carburetor and a ton of chrome. The engine
compartment is very nicely done with a smooth painted firewall and
cleanly routed hoses. Those little details are the first clue that
the builder put a lot of care into this project. The car has a
great sound thanks to the Shorty headers routed into the dual
Flowmaster exhaust. Cooling is provided by the Griffin aluminum
radiator and electric fans which keeps this thing running at
optimum temps even during the Texas summer. The rest of the
drivetrain features a TH350 automatic transmission and 8 inch Ford
rear end with 2.79 gears. Whether you are cruising around town or
headed on a long trip this car will get you there. Not only is it
reliable but a very smooth cruiser. With power steering, power
front disc brakes, and a Mustang II suspension the car rolls down
the road very comfortably.
The fun doesn't stop there because the interior was just as nicely
done as the rest. The high back bucket seats are very comfortable
and with the bench in back this car offers the opportunity to take
the whole family out to the show which is something not every
street rod allows. The two tone Red and White leather upholstery is
in great condition and the door panels, seats and even trunk were
all done to match. The dash of the car features a custom wood
insert which looks great and is very unique. It is topped with
White faced VDO gauges, small LED indicators, and the Vintage AC
controls. The vents for the AC are nicely inset into the dash and
the system is R134 so adding refrigerant is a simple process. Also
mounted in the lower dash section is a JVC AM/FM/CD stereo with Aux
hook up. In front of the driver sits a tilt column and the classic
2 spoke steering wheel. With all of the nice qualities of this car
there is undoubtedly some features that we have left out. Billet
pedals, power windows, aftermarket belts...the list just goes on
and on.
You can be assured that pretty much anything you could want in a
modern Street Rod is packed into this classic. It comes with a car
cover and photos of the restoration process.
