Originally introduced in 1959 as a competitor to the successful
Ford Ranchero, the El Camino took a brief hiatus before being
reintroduced on the Chevelle platform in 1964. In fact, many may
forget that models existed before the Chevelle El Camino! A
timeless classic indeed, this unique truck/car combination vehicle
has captured the heart of Americans for decades.
This 1960 El Camino has been restored in a tasteful and largely
original fashion sure to appeal to any true car enthusiast. Whether
you like unique vehicles, or you want something similar to what you
remember from back in the day, this El Camino is sure to deliver.
The exterior of this El Camino is clean and straight, a feat not
easy to pull off with body lines like these! Getting a vehicle like
this to take on this appearance requires skill, and the restoration
of this car/truck was very well executed. Take this puppy out for a
cruise, and you'll be sure to turn heads anywhere you go in this
eye-catching pickup!
Under the hood is a Chevy 283 V8 engine; factory correct for this
El Camino. Though not quite as much a storied veteran as the 350
small block, the 283 is similarly reliable and easy to service.
While this car may not be a hot rod, the 283 is adequate power to
move this car with ease. This truck runs as good as it looks! The
engine is hooked up to a 4-speed manual transmission; a combination
certain to deliver as many smiles per gallon as possible. Cruising
around town in this '60 Chevy makes for a good time, every time.
Contrary to popular belief, the four wheel manual drum brakes stop
this vehicle quite well and are more than adequate for the
application. If you're looking to feel in touch with your vehicle
while driving, this is the car for you.
The interior has been refinished and is in great condition! Given
that this is an older restoration The seat is in excellent
condition as is the dash. As a whole, the interior is largely
original in appearance. There's something about this color that
really takes you back in time! The four-speed shifter has the
classic look required for a car like this, and really completes the
look of the interior.
If you're looking for a clean El Camino that is turn-key cruiser
ready, look no further. The blue on blue combination really suits
this vehicle and the four-speed/283 combination makes it a classic
driving machine. If you need is a '60 El Camino, this El Camino
needs you!
