A combination of original and new-old-stock parts has, by way of a rotisserie restoration, returned the car to virtually showroom-new condition.� � Inside, multi-tone, gray fabric seat upholstery with white piping is complemented by square-weave gray material on the door panels and lower interior vertical surfaces. The style statement is classic Teutonic. In the same way, the wicker parcel shelf running below the entire dash is both simple and practical. That same design ethic continues in the Becker AM radio that met every audio need back in 1966, the simple rubber floor covering, and the only-what's-necessary dashboard instrumentation. Where American cars of that time celebrated chrome and excess, the Beetle was a minimalist's dream. � The 1285cc engine here is original to the car, and like everything else, is fully restored. Every mechanical aspect of the car is completely functional including the floor-shifted transmission, lighting, brakes, and manual convertible-top mechanism.
