Vehicle Description

                  If you're still looking for a GTE, I have two currently available.

            Both are "W" codes =1968 427 Sideoiler

          1 has been restored (38 K original miles), 1 is mostly all original (72 K original miles)

              Both are Cardinal Red, One without a vinyl top and one with. 

               Both are well Documented and listed with the GTE Registry         

 These are for "serious" collectors only and are some of the best examples known to exist.

1968 Mercury Cougar XR7 GT-E   Have you ever wanted to be a part of the elite club of GT-E owners? Here is your chance to own a GT-E that was "Restored to be Driven" This cool cat was ordered as a "Dealer Demonstrator" and shipped to Canada. It was loaded with options and had an original sales price over $6100.00!! It was born Augusta Green, but now sports a triple black trim scheme. Pertronix ignition makes it purr and 4 wheel disc brakes bring this fast cat to a screeching stop. More pictures will be posted soon.

Body is excellent, with no known rust-has subtle chips from road use

Originally Augusta Green-repainted Black

Fender emblems were NOS when installed in 2006

Front springs are correct Detroit Eaton replacements

15"  '69-70 style steel wheels  Front tires: P215 60R 15  Rear tires; P235 60R 15

New rear leaf springs and shackles 2002. New lower front control arms 2003. Rebuilt idler arm and steering gear 2003. New brake lines, booster and master cylinder 2003.

Leather bucket seats reupholstered 2005, dash chrome refinished 2006, steering wheel refinished excellent but incorrect wood grain, Stereo system mounted in glove box, heater core replaced and heater box rebuilt 2006.

Correct C8AE-A block, C8OE-6090-N heads, C7AE-9425-F aluminum PI intake manifold, C8AF-9510-AD carburetor, seven blade fan, "X" code fuel pump, radiator, all pulleys and brackets.

428 CJ exhaust manifolds and H-pipe, 30 over arias pistons, 428 CJ crankshaft, Comp Cams 280H camshaft, Harlan Sharp roller rockers, ARP rod bolts, Stellings high volume oil pump, Canton Racing oil pickup, Cloyes Tru-Roller double timing chain, Edlebrock highflow aluminum water pump, "Running Cat" valve covers
