Motorcar Studio is pleased to offer this very original 1980 Porsche
924 Turbo (931). This 924 remained in the same family from new
until the current owner's purchase in 2017; it's showing 28,000
miles. Finished in attractive Petrol Blue Metallic over beige
leather interior, this car was optioned with Sport Group, sunroof,
A/C, electric mirrors and rear wiper.
The current enthusiast owner has invested a great deal of time and
money over the past 3,000 miles in a mechanical refresh to include
timing belt, water pump, rebuilt turbo, brakes, brake hydraulics,
clutch hydraulics, front and rear bushings, ball joints, tie rods,
tires, coolant tank, hood pad, hatch struts and more. A Certificate
of authenticity, the original window sticker, complete tool kit,
spare tire, air pump, sunroof bag, books, radio manuals, original
keys and service records dating to the late 1990s are included.
We believe the paint to be original and although it has some light
patina and a few flaws, the car shows well overall - we are
particularly fond of the period hand-painted pinstriping. Likewise
the interior is in good original condition - the leather remains
soft on the seats and the door cards and carpets are nice. A few
typical dash cracks are present. The original Blaupunkt cassette
stereo is in the the dash and a CB radio was fitted in period. At a
cost of over $26,000 when new, these 924 Turbos were approaching
911 price territory and as such were sold in relatively low numbers
(fewer than 7,000 for the US market). Today it is difficult to find
an example this original and well sorted.
