during the peak of the muscle car era in the summer of 1969 and is
just one of the 20,302 manufactured. Of all 1969 Camaros produced
fewer than 10% were in this striking Fathom Green color and most
certainly considerably less were Z/28s'. Fast forward to 2019 and
the Z/28 is still powered by its original, numbers matching, 302
cubic-inch DZ solid-lifter V8. General Motors and Chevrolet
conservatively rated these engines at 290 horsepower, however the
performance lends to a higher output number. A recipient of a
comprehensive restoration, the Camaro has been repainted in its
original color of Fathom Green (correct to factory trim tag) and
the black vinyl interior is in excellent condition. The Z/28 is
nicely equipped with M20 wide-range 4-speed manual transmission,
Hurst shifter, 12-bolt posi-traction rear end with 3.55 gear ratio,
power steering, power brakes, center console with gauges,
dual-exhaust and even power windows! The trim tag shows this car to
have been built in the Norwood assembly plant during the 1st week
of August 1969, and indicates the car as being a coveted X77 code
Camaro containing the Z/28 Special Performance Equipment.
Documentation includes almost every original registration since new
from the mostly two-owner car. In addition, the original Sales
Invoice, Order Form, Car Shipper Report and Protect-O-Plate are
