Vehicle Description
One of the best-looking two-door sedans of the '60s just got even
better. Here's a 1964 Ford Fairlane 500 with some Thunderbolt style
and plenty of power all its own. So check out all the investments
made for a sleek look and serious V8 muscle.
The upgrades to this two-door sedan are subtle at first. The wide
chrome bumpers shine like mirrors, there's extra polish in the
grille, and the full-length trim looks like an unbroken line on the
super-straight sides. But then you also spot unmistakable signs of
performance like the teardrop bulge of the Thunderbolt hood and the
wide pipes of the side exhaust. And while you're admiring the shine
of the American Racing Salt Flat style wheels, you'll also notice
how much wider the rear rubber is. And then there's the paint. It
has the look of Ford's Vintage Burgundy, but there's a metallic
element that really shows off under the sunlight. As an interesting
side note, this is originally a Wimbledon White car. Those who know
Thunderbolts are aware they only came in Vintage Burgundy and
Wimbledon White, so this one really does represent the history in
an interesting way!
The interior has a great vintage attitude. Subtle racers are all
about having two wide benches, and you can tell they made a nice
investment to keep this gold vinyl look so retro cool. Plus,
headliner, carpeting, and intricate door panels also received
attention to give you a great atmosphere. In fact, this one feels
authentic, right down to the AM radio that's still cranking out
tunes! But what you'll really love is this one's Saturday night
racer vibe. It comes from having the classic steering wheel and
classic gauges supplemented by a full auxiliary readout trio and a
large Sun Super Tach prominently mounted on top of the dash.
The engine bay has a terrific tidy look. And pieces like the ribbed
air topper, polished tower supports, and Ford Racing valve covers
all look like they're radiating power within the darkness. And this
lives up to the performance image with a 408 cubic-inch stroker V8.
It has been enhanced with a Holley four-barrel carburetor,
Edelbrock Super Victor intake, Edelbrock Performer RPM aluminum
heads, and long tube headers feeding the side exhaust. You even
have nice supporting components everywhere from newer gaskets
throughout the motor to an aluminum radiator to help keep the V8
running cool. The undercarriage looks quite fresh and you've also
got trusty components like Ford's C4 three-speed automatic
transmission and 9-inch rear end. Plus, front disc brakes and BF
Goodrich gForce tires are great for control.
Bright, powerful, and distinct, this is the Fairlane of your
dreams. So don't miss out, call today!
