Vehicle Description
With its eye-catching exterior showing all those instantly
recognizable vintage styling cues that have made the model so
coveted among collectors - with just a little customization thrown
into the mix - this 1953 Chevrolet 3100 is awesome in all respects.
It's been the beneficiary of a thorough, frame off restoration at
the hands of skilled professionals, so its curb appeal is off the
charts and it's sporting some well-chosen mods to enhance its
drivability in everyday conditions.
This venerable pickup not only shows all the hallmarks of a great
refurbishment, but there's also an inspired overall vision on
display here. Take a lap around and you'll see that all of the
exterior fittings are period correct and securely in place for an
authentic appearance while the lowered stance adds a definite
hotrod element. The magnetic red paint draped over the exterior
really looks nice - it adds even more presence to a beloved classic
already carrying its fair share of it and is very clean, with no
blemishes and a strong shine - a professional buffing job will
elevate its game even further. The Chevy pickups of this era
sported seriously inspired front grilles, comprised of 5 beefy,
horizontally oriented bars sitting just underneath the intricate
Chevy emblem at the nose of the hood, and the one here is in top
form, as is the balance of chrome on display here. The contrasting
white Chevrolet lettering on the liftgate features a unique,
vintage font - a sharp, distinguishing touch.
The fresh interior shows plenty of skilled craftsmanship and a lot
of cool details. The black vinyl bench seat at its center appears
outright new - there's not a wrinkle or any discoloration over its
entire surface - and its red pinstripes tie in perfectly with both
the exterior and the tubular metal surround it's supported by. The
contrasting, ultra-clean white dash blends perfectly with the door
panels and recessed inside of it is a pair of Classic Instruments
displays rimmed in chrome to keep tabs on vital motoring functions,
while a Supertach gauge sits just below. Fresh rubber seals line
the door openings and windows to keep the elements from intruding.
An aftermarket climate control system has also been added, so the
cruising will be nice and comfortable in this head-turning ride.
The bed area on this truck is a standout - it's tastefully restored
with a mild stain and sharp chrome inserts.
You'll find quite an assembly of top quality components standing by
underneath the hood in a very nicely detailed engine compartment.
The 350 cubic inch crate engine at the center is equipped with
Vortec heads, a 4-barrel Holley carb and an aftermarket intake
manifold to up its output, while Centerbolt valve covers and a
number of polished components add some eye candy. The powerplant
sends a nice, deep note out of the headers leading to a dual
exhaust as it pairs with a 4-speed automatic transmission. An
upgraded ignition system maximizes available spark, while the
aluminum radiator pairs with an electric fan up front to help keep
operating temperatures in check. Tubular front control arms sit in
place of the originals to offer both a cooler look and increased
caster for better handling, while power steering makes for easy
navigation. You'll also find power disc brakes at all four corners
to bring this Chevy classic's set of 16" steel wheels with
Chevrolet-lettered hubcaps to quick stops.
Maxing out in the appearance department while harboring just the
right collection of components to provide a great experience behind
the wheel, this 1953 Chevrolet 3100 is a "must-see". Call
