I purchased the car spring of 2011, and began improving the car for my use. The suspension work was extensive, using whatever parts Jerry Woods suggested. See list for details...Also lightened it up with fiberglass doors, fenders, hood, and glass. The engine was already built to 2.3, so we just needed to replace the old Zenith carbs with PMO's. Completed all work by Spring of 2012, including precision corner weighting, alignment, and chassis set up. I competed in several autocross's thru 2016, continuing to set it up for the 2016 Hill Climb season, when health issues became the new focus for me as well... We did manage an Autocross in 2017, before prepping it for storage.

The Porsche 911 Targa with its integral roll bar was as much a product of necessity as creativity. Safety advocates in the 1960s were targeting convertibles as inherently dangerous at the same time that Porsche was planning to produce its new 911 with a drop top. The imaginative solution was… viola!… a built-in roll bar […]
The Porsche 911 has always been a fantastic sports car, but the GT2 made it something more. This year, the GT2 celebrates 25 years of terrorizing supercars (and some of its own drivers), so Porsche offered a retrospective. Launched in 1995, the GT2 was originally conceived as a racing homologation special for the GT2 class, […]

In 1978, Porsche updated and upgraded its 911S with a 3.0-liter engine that matched the displacement, albeit not the power, of its former Turbo Carrera model. Voila! The 911S became the 911SC, which was available as a coupe or with a Targa top. In 1983, its final year of production, the car was available as […]

It is now quite a few years ago that Porsche had its American headquarters in Reno, Nevada. With so many of its customers in nearby California, and from the perspective of corporate taxation, the move from New Jersey probably made sense. However, it didn’t take very long for German executives to tire of the even […]
Many people believe that the air-cooled Porsche 911 market is inflated to the point that they have become unaffordable. I beg to differ. In the past 9 months, the prices on those sports cars have fallen quite a bit, and if you spend time shopping, you can find a nice 911 for less than $30,000. […]

Ruf, which also […]
