Vehicle Description

This 1962 PORSCHE 356B coupe (Super T-6) with twin grilles and the large rear window is for sale by the very long term  2nd owner.

The first owner was an airline pilot who purchased the car in Germany and then shipped it to the States. I purchased it 55 years ago in like new condition in August, 1963 in California. I have never raced it or wrecked it.  This car has been babied and for the past 15 years hardly driven.  It is garage kept and runs beautifully. It features a 356  4 cylinder engine that has been upgraded with many improvements.

This vehicle has been enhanced and refined in numerous ways over a long span of years.  It is a pristine, show quality car in excellent condition.  It is a Reutter body coupe with a “Certificate of Authenticity” from PORSCHE.

The manual transmission has Speedster gears which are closely coupled for driving on our Colorado mountainous roads. There are no known rust issues.  The body is solid as is the chassis and frame.  It tracks well.

The paint is show quality Oslo blue in base and clear coats.  All chrome is original and of excellent quality.  The vehicle has the desirable side trim strips; also it has the extra headlight grilles with HELLA driving lights below the front bumper.

The front fenders do not have an anterior slope like earlier models and the external fuel filler is located on the right front fender.

There is a complete factory tool kit with the original Driver’s Manual.  The wheels are chrome with Michelin 205/60R15 radial tires in very good condition.  The front brakes are disc and there is a rear torque compensator spring with Koni shocks.  There is a heavy duty front anti-sway bar.

The interior is in new condition with a concours wood steering wheel, push button Becker AM-FM radio and “red tip” antenna.

The VDO clock still works!!

The upholstery is black leatherette in excellent condition with head rests and the carpet is gray heavy weave.

The engine in this iconic luxury sports car has been upgraded to the SC status.  It has the extra powerful “Big Bore” kit with 1800cc, higher compression ratio and the SC camshaft.  Horsepower is rated at approximately 110HP.

There is a Perma-Tune CD ignition system, special high flow oil filter system, an extra capacity lower oil pan, and also a high flow exhaust/muffler system.  There is a 12 volt electrical system to the starter and driving lights (included is a new 12 volt generator to be installed).

The engine runs well and has 16,600 miles on it.  The car runs and drives as it should.

The vehicle is offered As-Is, not covered by a warranty. Price is $126,500.
